Sandwich in Malacanang

As I write this, it is seven minutes before five o’clock in the afternoon. I have not had a descent meal but bread and butter, yogurt and water. Blogging about brushing elbows with Sec. Ermita at the Premier Guest House in Malacanang reminds me of the sandwich.

Yes, the cheezy sandwich shown on the picture. The sandwich was a pile of a mouth watering thin slice of cheeze on the inside, a touch of mayonnaise, and fresh lettuce wrapped in a slice of bread so delicately toasted it would melt in the mouth.

Who would have known that my gastronomic adventure will bring me to the heights over that little luscious sandwich in the house? And by the way the malacanang emblemed napkin is just a bonus. :)

Eduardo Ermita

DSC05377This was a courtesy call to the Executive Secretary Eduardo R Ermita by PMA Bagwis Class 2012 cadets, our head of the Class 2012 Interdisciplinary Tour delegation and some officers and faculty at the Premier Guest House in Malacanang on September 14, 2009.

Ermita a member of PMA Class 1957 entertained us, well, primarily the cadets, happily and nostalgically about his cadet days, his career in the military and now in the government.

I was seated at the back row which was a convenient site close to their powder room, which explains the pictures. We were served with refreshments which I find so welcome on that warm Tuesday morning. I was munching their savory tasting cheezy sandwich I could barely hear him. I was distracted with the food and the house itself.

DSC05380Every now and then I get to check the lovely interior of the house.

I dreamed a beautiful dream right then and there.
