I have been using tawas otherwise called alum for decades for my underarms. I have tried for only quite a while commercial brands like Rexona and another brand which I could not remember anymore. But these brands never went well with my body, first I hate their unnatural scent and second they burn my armpits. My officemates told me to quit, as commercial deodorants sometimes lead to dark and smelly armpits. I continued using tawas and in the absence of tawas I use kalamansi juice and rub its rind on my armpits. I have also discovered the benefits of using virgin coconut oil for my armpits. The tawas, kalamansi and virgin coconut oil go well with my natural scent which is “no scent” at all. Most importantly, these natural deodorants are not only cheap compared to commercial deodorants but effective. They maintained the softness, smoothness and fairness of my armpits that I am proud of. In fact I love to feel the smoothness of my underarms and smell its scent which is “no smell” at all.
