Our hair, is our crowning glory that can make or break us. We spend our hard earned money for shampoos, conditioners and other hair treatments in the saloon to achieve a desirable look. Often we do not get enough, we suffer from dandruff, brittle hair, and hairfall despite the products we put on our hair.
Just very recently however, and in my desire to go organic and spend money wisely, I used gugo bark decoction for my hair. A strip of the bark cost ten to twenty pesos. In Baguio, the strips can be bought from the natives selling herbs in the sidewalk. You can find them posting in Session Road corner Mabini Street just in front of Philippine National Bank or Harrison Street near the Bank of the Philippine Islands. Unfortunately none can be had in the sidewalk vendors in Iligan City, my other home city. My other option was to use Mane and Tail for my hair which was not available in the mall. Thus my one month visit in the city of the south meant that I have to use commercial shampoos which I found so unfriendly to my hair, that I had warning signs of the much dreaded alopecia and brittle hair.
Now that I am back to Baguio City. I have a pad of Gugo bark ready. It is easy to prepare the decoction. Cut a strip of the bark, a two by two inch would be enough for a medium length hair. Soak the bark in the water for 5 minutes or more. Squeeze a well-soaked bark. This produces a lathery decoction. The lather however is not as thick as you have in commercial shampoos. The decoction also has a natural good smell which is not as strong as you have in commercial shampoos. You can also add kalamansi juice with the gugo decoction.
The gugo decoction and a squeeze of kalamansi promises a cleaner, naturally smelling, shiny and healthy hair without the fear of hairfall and dandruff. I recommend that you go try it for yourself.

Thanks for the info
